Product Description

Keep your East Wood Design board looking and performing its best with our own beeswax and mineral oil conditioner, made right here in-house. Blended from food-safe mineral oil and natural beeswax, it penetrates deep into the grain to nourish the timber while the beeswax forms a light protective layer on the surface — helping to guard against moisture, drying, and everyday wear.

Whether it's a chopping board, serving board, or the end-grain top of a butcher block island, regular conditioning keeps the timber supple, prevents cracking and warping, and brings out the natural depth and colour of the grain. It's the same conditioner we use to finish every board before it leaves our workshop, so you can keep it looking just as good as the day it arrived.

Food-safe and simple to use — no soaking, no waiting days, just rub it in and let the wood do the rest.

How to Use

  1. Check the board. When the timber starts to look dry, pale, or feels rough to the touch, it's time to condition.
  2. Apply. Rub a generous amount of conditioner into the surface using a dry cloth, working it into the grain. Cover both sides of the board, and don't forget the edges and ends.
  3. Let it soak in. Leave the conditioner to absorb for a few hours, or ideally overnight.
  4. Buff off. Once absorbed, buff away any excess with a clean, dry cloth until the surface feels smooth and no longer greasy.

That's it — no rinsing required. For boards in regular use, we recommend conditioning every 2–4 weeks to start, tapering to every 1–2 months once the timber settles in.
